Prophetic Wisdom
By Aurora Juliana Ariel, PhD
Many prophecies are coming true as we enter what has been called the End Times. The earth has begun to go through many devastating changes that were foretold if humanity did not change its ways. Archaic structures are being broken down creating a scary dilemma for earth citizens, as everything that was once held dear could be lost in these coming times. Even the densest of human consciousness has been penetrated with the awareness that the world is in chaos and that mounting dangers to our way of life is affecting us all.
The Indian Nations have long prophesied the Coming Earth Changes, but there is another prophecy that is just as compelling in its vision for our future. It is the 500-year-old Incan Prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor. This prophecy speaks of a unity that first takes place in the consciousness of humanity and then creates peace on earth. The prophecy states, “When the Eagle once again flies with the Condor, a lasting peace will reign in the Americas and will spread throughout the world to unite humanity.” The last 600 Incas from this ancient tribe are the keepers of this Vision. To them, it is a sacred promise that many Elders from the Indian Nations believe will be fulfilled in our time.
According to Barry Fraser, who hosts the website Earth Spirit Rising, the Eagle represents the mind of the people, while the Condor the heart. In his view, the People of the Eagle developed the intellect at the expense of the heart. Material wealth has been the result of the technologies they’ve developed, but they have also found themselves “spiritually impoverished to their peril.”
The People of the Condor represent the indigenous people of the world who live close to the land and who have developed a heart and wisdom from their connection to the natural world. According to Fraser, they live from their heart and have a deep spiritual wisdom, but while many are spiritually rich, they are also materially impoverished. The forces of the developed world now threaten the environment they depend upon. To survive, he believes they must develop the intellectual skills of the Eagle.
For many years I’ve been inspired by the New Archetypes that are being embraced by many Awakening Souls worldwide. One of these I call, “Wealth Wedded With Spirituality.” It’s a way of life I’ve come to embody that allows for an abundant lifestyle that is spiritually based.
Through the past millennia, humanity departed from this ideal and instead adopted beliefs that lack, poverty, and living without were more reflective of the spiritual life, whereas material abundance was a reflection of a fallen or lost soul or civilization. This dichotomy in the psyche of humanity is reflected in the schism in our society between an advancing technological age and the way of life of indigenous cultures.
It is believed that the first part of the prophecy, where the eagle and condor unite, came true after 500 years, when Indian Elders gathered from the Americas for the first time at Lake Titicaca, Peru in 2007. Sacred ceremonies and wisdom councils were held, as well as prayer circles for unity and world peace. The Elders present felt this was a momentous and historic landmark in time. Since then, their united voice has been a wake up call to the inhabitants of earth. Their message is clear. Time is running out. A change must be made now if we are going to insure our future and know the peace that is prophesized for our world.
The Way of the Condor and the Eagle is important. We must incorporate both ways to restore balance in our world. Heart and mind must be united, for this balance must first come from within before it is reflected in the outer world. We must reestablish the Inner Archetypes that are the codes of our true identity to fulfill the extraordinary destiny before us.
Chief Arvol Looking Horse of the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota Nation said, “We have been warned from Ancient Prophecies of these times we live in today, but have also been given a very important message about a solution to turn these terrible times around.” Scientists as well as Indigenous peoples warn us that destructive developments are causing havoc globally and will affect our future generations. Elders and scholars from around the world are meeting to address the planetary situation as we stand at the 11th hour.
Chief Arvol Looking Horse has been a prominent voice in the Indian Nations. He shares his prophetic wisdom saying, “In our Prophecies it is told that we are now at the crossroads. Either unite spiritually as a Global Nation, or be faced with chaos, disasters, diseases, and tears from our relatives' eyes. We are the only species that is destroying the Source of Life, Mother Earth, in the name of power, mineral resources, and ownership of land, using chemicals and methods of warfare that are doing irreversible damage. Mother Earth is becoming tired and cannot sustain any more impacts of war. This new millennium will usher in an age of harmony or it will bring the end of life, as we know it. To us, as caretakers of the heart of Mother Earth, falls the responsibility of turning back the powers of destruction.”
We have lived outside a code of ethics that could have translated into a utopian society and humanity realizing its greater potential. Limited by centuries of human programming, we have become drones following the beat of societal ideas that have kept us from living the life that was meant for us. We have come away from cherished ideals and instead embraced the status quo, constantly working on advancing ourselves forward in the material sense while remaining inept at realizing true Soul Fulfillment. We morph ourselves to conform to the needs or preferences of others, while losing a sense of who we really are, all the while forgetting that unless we return to our Authentic Self, we will never realize our full potential.
We know that we reap what we sow, but bent on material acquisition, we have failed to live within our means or create a bastion of harmony and peace for our families. Instead, we are driven to succeed under the codes of a society that has forgotten its Divine Heritage. We are bent on accumulating possessions in a massive search for a happiness that somehow eludes us despite our fervent pursuit and best efforts, but through the journey, we have learned the true value of personal happiness and inner peace by its loss. We have found that material abundance cannot bring happiness if we are not happy inside.
For too long we have put our personal dreams on hold, relegating happiness for a future time when we have accomplished our goals. All the while we never realized that our incessant drive to amass wealth and to be thought well of by our standard of living was a symptom of our lack of self worth. Mounting ever-new trophies upon the walls of our life, we sought to prove that we are good enough and that we matter, but the cost has been great. While we may have gained everything in the material sense, we have lost touch with the deeper meaning and purpose for our life. And now, everything that we have built and strived for and worked so hard to attain may come tumbling down.
